Meditations for Armistice Day

As we do each year, we take a moment to remember the fallen and to commemorate their sacrifice. Adrian Williams’ short work, Russells’ Elegy, is a deeply touching meditation of friendship and loss, emerging from and retreating to silence. Edward Elgar’s Nimrod has long has special poignancy at this time of year, and is heard in a powerful new arrangement for solo cello (Raphael Wallfisch) and strings by the great Elgarian, Donald Fraser.
