Ben Goldscheider has garnered international acclaim as the most exciting young horn player Britain has produced in a generation. Richard Strauss and Felix Mendelssohn were two of music’s greatest child prodigies, and Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 was written when the composer was just 18, and has remained a lynchpin of the horn repertoire ever since, heard hear alongside the beguiling Nocturne by his uncle, Franz Strauss.
