The English String Orchestra, make their first visit to Lincoln with a programme celebrating the Romantic string orchestra literature which lifted the orchestra to international acclaim. Tchaikovsky’s melodious and virtuosic Serenade, Grieg’s wistful and poignant Holberg Suite and a selection of works by Elgar round out the programme, conducted by ESO’s Artistic Director, Kenneth Woods, proudly carrying forward the ESO linage going back to past conductors Vernon Handley and Yehundi Menuhin.
