Harriet has toured Europe, America, China, South America, South Africa and Japan as a
soloist and chamber musician. Harriet made her highly acclaimed Purcell room debut as
part of the Park Lane Young Artists Series. Since then she has given concertos and
recitals worldwide in prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw,
Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre and the Expo Dome in Japan. She premiered Robert
Fokkens violin concerto, written and dedicated to her, at the Southbank Centre, London
and in 2012 gave the premiere of Graham Coatman’s violin concerto at the Swaledale
Festival, which was also written and dedicated to her. She has broadcast recitals ‘live’ for
BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Hungarian National Radio. Harriet graduated from the Royal
Academy of Music with First Class honours, M.Mus, and DipRAM.

A lover of chamber music, she plays with a variety of musicians: with violinist Philippa Mo
in their internationally acclaimed duo ‘Retorica’ (www.retorica.co.uk), pianists Anna
Tilbrook, Danny Driver and Christopher Glynn, in the ‘Sutherland Duo’ with Christina
Lawrie (winners of the Enterprise Music Scotland Award 2012), with guitarist Morgan
Szymanski and is a founder member of the innovative unique trio Kosmos
(www.kosmosensemble.com). Harriet has recorded on the NMC and Dutton labels to
critical acclaim. Her recording of ‘English violin duos’ with Retorica was awarded ‘Editor’s
Choice’ in the April 2013 edition of Gramophone Magazine.

In 2014 Harriet will be recording various new CDs: a CD with pianist Christina Lawrie of
Grieg Sonata no.3, Prokofiev Sonata no.1 and Tchaikovsky pieces made with the support
of Creative Scotland; another CD with her violin duo Retorica of pieces written for them by
contemporary Japanese composers in response the the tsunami; and a disk of both trios
and a solo violin work by Stephen Dodgson with cellist Graham Walker and viola player
Sarah-Jane Bradley. In 2014/15 Harriet will be touring Japan, Germany, Scotland, Wales,
the Channel Islands and China.
